The Journey
A ship came over the horizon
as the dawn appeared
The sun came from the east
a blinding flash of gold
And I pondered on that ship
and knew that it was me
For the light was strong
and I could not see
and I had gone away
I walked along and left
the city far behind
Every step that I was taking
was one more in my llife
And I saw the dawn was passing
the sun rose in the sky
And I was getting older
my life flying by
A ship came over the horizon
as the dawn appeared
The sun came from the east
a blinding flash of gold
And I pondered on that ship
and knew that it was me
For the light was strong
and I could not see
and I had gone away
I walked along and left
the city far behind
Every step that I was taking
was one more in my llife
And I saw the dawn was passing
the sun rose in the sky
And I was getting older
my life flying by
I walked a little further
and saw some children play
They acted out their dreams
their hopes along the way
And I saw and reflected
that one of them was me
But time had hurried on
and one day - they like me
would see the children play
And still in my reflection
deep in my heart I knew
one cannot turn the clock back
for life cannot keep still
And then I felt the blood
pulsating through my veins
And I knew it must keep moving
indeed if it should cease
my life would be a memory
But would life be ceased ?
